On December 10, 2021, Lviv started receiving the first low-floor trams of Ukrainian production "Electron" ahead of schedule, purchased with credit funds from the European Investment Bank (EIB). This became possible thanks to Lviv's participation in the Urban Public Transport of Ukraine project, which is a framework loan from the EIB. Under the project, the city received a 12- million euro loan for the purchase of ten five-section, 100% low-floor trams.
In September 2020 "Lvivelectrotrans” signed a contract for the supply of 10 new trams, as well as a set of mandatory spare parts and consumables, equipment and tools for their maintenance and repair. Initially, according to the delivery schedule in the above-mentioned contract, it was planned that Lviv would receive the first 5 trams in June 2022, but "Electron” concern delivered the first tram already in December 2021.
